About me
I was born and raised near the West Side of Chicago in Oak Park, IL with my three younger brothers.
I've just finished my Master's of Science in Journalism at Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism with a specialization in social justice and investigative journalism (and a 3.9 GPA!) My master's project, my proudest achievement, is a documentary about food insecurity on the West Side of Chicago. "Feed 'Em All" won the Virginia Dares Cinematic Award for Decolonizing and Re-indigenizing Media and was an official selection in the Oregon Documentary Film Festival and the Female Feedback Film Festival.
I majored in Communications and Italian Studies at Santa Clara University '18.
After graduating from Santa Clara, I moved to Rome, Italy where I worked as an ESL teacher in a school and a refugee center (Joel Nafuma Refugee Center) for one year.
Next, I moved to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico where I worked in a school and a refugee center (Casa Abba) for Central American migrants making the dangerous journey north.
I am passionate about social justice storytelling.
I am a feminist documentary filmmaker.
